The literary industry is very much a hit-based market, where only a tiny fraction of works receive due attention.

Naturally, publishers and agents tend to favor projects that follow formulae which have been proven to be successful in the market. Oftentimes, this makes it trialsome for truly novel and innovative creations to break through.

Stark Fiction was founded to help such break-throughs. It is a not-for-profit collective dedicated to publishing and highlighting creative, original works that come up against the industry's bias for demonstrably marketable literature.
