Submissions

What we publish:
We look for projects that go against the grain, that do not necessarily fit the industry mold. Do not be afraid to experiment, and send us your most gripping, thought-provoking stories.

Authors we publish will retain all rights to their stories.

Stark Fiction is an online magazine published bi-monthly. We accept projects 1,000-7,000 words in the following genres:

• Dark Fantasy
• Fantasy
• Horror
• Science Fiction

What we do not publish:
There’s a difference between thought-provoking and offensive. The former we want; the latter not so much.

Submission Guidelines:

Please email submissions to submissions@starkfiction.com, with the subject "SUBMISSION:" followed by the title of your piece and its genre.

Example: SUBMISSION: The Keyboard and the Headache, Dark Fantasy

Please attach all submissions in .doc or .rtf format—we will not accept submissions embedded in the body of the email. Include your bio in your cover letter. If you wish to attach your picture, feel free to do so.

Response Times

We respond to all submissions. Response times vary depending on volume, but we should get back to you by the following week. If we choose to pass, please do not respond to our rejection letter. We are not able to provide feedback on rejected submissions.
